dragonblade0's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- song lyrics and poetry today i gained a whole new level of respect for my uncle. let me explain. he calls me upstairs to listen to a couple of the songs he's written and recorded. they were very well done, i might add. and then he lets me go through a couple of his poems. the guys 40. but he is one brilliant fucking mastermind with conveying thoughts and ideas on paper. i was just so amazed. he pulls out a scrap book he's had for over 20 years, full of songs, poems, thoughts and the like. he lets me read this series of poems he wrote when he was 24, called the the poet -n- me and i have to say it was the most moving set of poems i have ever read. it was about the life of a man, the things he's done, the way he felt, the sins he comitted, the consequences. just fucking brilliant. yea. wow. and then i let him read my dear valentine poem. and he read that and just thought it was great. how many layers there were to it. how the whole thought was contained solely in it's self, in me, and yet at the end of the whole thing i was thanking someone else. he was just amazed by it. all in all it has been quite eye opening... seeing this talent of my uncles. like i said, i gained a whole new level of respect for him... 8:53 p.m. - 2004-04-09 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
