dragonblade0's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- itty bitty town day 1 hello all. i meant to update this morning, but didn't have the time. see, i was up at 3:45 in the morning, and we all left the house by 4:30. all as in my family of 5 plus 5 other people. yea. we stopped at the local timmy's and were on the road. we're spending the next two days up north, in the sudbury area. currently i'm outside a little itty bitty excuse for a town called noëlville. yep, noëlville. that's christmastown in english for those of us who are challenged in french. theres nothing in this town, it's horrible. but this is where my family's roots are. or this general area, at least. we're visiting my dad's parents, but my mom lived up here too. french river - look it up on a map. it's kinda cool to think my life began out here. thank god my parents moved to ottawa though. i love where i live. anyways, we got to my gramma's house at 10:47. that's 6 hours in a very small backseat. i half slept most of it, but not really. i could hardly hear my discman over the radio, and every little thing seemed to be ticking me off. it really wasn't cool. i actually started crying for no reason. and was just plain angry. i was fairly weirded out... so i just kept to myself so as not to get the rest of the family annoyed with me. when we got to noëlville, i discovered i had started my period, go figure. luckily i had an ominous feeling this might happen, so i'm all good. kind of explains the mood swings, all though i have never experienced them as a result of this before. ah well. we just had an amusing experience of 'bertie bott's every flavour beans' from the harry potter books. we made my grandpa try a dirt flavoured one. he had to spit it out. wuss. the dirt's the funniest one of all. :D ah hahah i'm being teased i can't go a whole day without the internet. although they think i'm chatting, which i'm not. a keyboard's one of my best friends... in case you couldn't tell. this afternoon we had pork chops grilled on the fire. they were good, but the most amusing part of the whole thing was the makeshift grill they used... yea. my dad and his brothers pryed apart a grocery cart and used a side as the grill. they can't stop talking about how amazing it worked, too. so they now have plans to grab a few from the local grocery store one night. yes, my family is insane. other amusing stories thus far... today my parents gave me alcohol to drink. my mom just offered, asked me if i wanted one of the cooler's in the car. we had this discussion before, about how seeing as i was 16 and hadn't been drinking (i haven't been, really) that she didn't really care if i did now, as long as it was responsibly, and for the first while with the family. so yea, i had a smirnoff's triple black ice cooler. later on my dad asked me if i had felt it at all, which i hadn't. he shrugs and says 'weird. 7% alcohol... you should have felt that. ah well, we'll try you with two tomorrow.' :D hahaha we'll see how that goes. i love my family, i really do. and yea, i think that concludes my stories and thoughts for the day... i'll be back at home sometime saturday afternoon. i'll probably have another story or two. either way, have fun with your march break wherever you are! (hey nomey! how'd kingston go? you never told me... keep out of trouble! don't do anything stupid with mr picture! haha, night!) later all! oh yea! happy st Patricks day everyone!! 10:23 p.m. - 2004-03-17 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
